Reliable Water Resources: Networked
Reliability comes from multiplicity of water sources. Today are sources include our reservoirs (Choke Canyon, Lake Corpus Christi), aquifers (City Wells, Evangeline (soon)) and streams feeding the Mary Rhodes Pipeline (MRP), yield 102 mgd.
Eliminating or reducing loss of our stored water can impact our water security as much as new sources....without spending more money! Gross Evaporative loss is 25% of our reservoirs capacity (Net Evaporative Loss shown here). Calculations support 48 mgd saved with 29% coverage on our reservoirs...free (developer funded project using power proceeds).
